What We Do

The Wellness Resource Center is an on-campus office staffed by health professionals and peer health educators (known as HEART peers) who are committed to providing comprehensive wellness education, resources, and prevention services to Temple University students.

What we do:

  • Provide educational workshops for student organizations and classes
  • Provide rapid HIV testing through Philadelphia FIGHT weekly in our office
  • Provide prevention trainings (such as "Give a Hoot") to campus organizations
  • Organize campus events such as WalkTU, Wellness Day, the Vagina Monologues, and the Clothesline Project
  • Sell safer sex products (such as condoms) at discounted prices
  • Provide a 3-credit Public Health class as training for our HEART peers
  • Make health-related referrals
  • Provide individual wellness consultations with our HEART peers or professional staff
  • Coordinate with other Temple departments to promote a healthier campus environment 
  • Host and teach "CHOICES", a class about alcohol use and abuse
  • Partner with University Housing to provide the Healthy Lifestyles Living Learning Community in the 1940 Residence Hall
